Will Badlands be available on the GNG server tomorrow ? If it isn't, I'll probably test it in another server but it would be great to try it with the whole GNG crew.

On Thursday, February 14 at 11 am PST, all PC versions of Team Fortress 2, the class-based multiplayer action game named PC Game of the Year by Gamespy.com, will receive its largest update since the product was first made available on October 10, 2007, as part of Valve's best-selling Orange Box compilation.

The free update includes global optimizations for networking, graphics, and player statistics, plus improvements to Source TV for tournament viewing.

In addition, three of the currently available maps (Dustbowl, Granary, CTF_Well) have been iterated for enhanced performance and gameplay.

The release is headlined by the introduction of “Badlands,” a new map that pushes control-point gameplay onto vertical landscapes.

Available free to all Team Fortress 2 PC gamers around the world automatically via Steam, there are too many features and improvements included in this update to list here. To view the full release notes, click here.

That's Valentine's Day, so most people will be on dates etc. Except for GNG members / regs who will be pwning face.

I added badlands to the end of the map rotation on Server 1 last night to add some new life. Let me know how people like playing it so I know if it should stay or not, or even if people are tired of what's in rotation now.

Anyone play the last few maps I added to the server btw? I never heard anything about them.

Heh, silly tuck.

Anyway, if we add new maps, we should also remove some. I know this sounds gay, but no one wants to wait 5 hours to play Dustbowl.

I am so sick of playing dustbowl! I haven't seen any of the new maps....are they in the rotation or do you have to map vote for them??

Well that didn't work for me. I believe at the time we found GNG we were looking for a dustbowl server that was pretty full. :poke2: and sadly that is 100% the truth.

ctf_2fort - presonally I like it... others don't
ctf_mach3 - Was interesting but got old quick
ctf_scorpion_v3 - Never played
ctf_stronghold_b5 -I just didn't like this one
ctf_quarry - Didn't play
ctf_turbine - v3 is an improvement
ctf_turbine_v3 - I like this map along with a few other GNG guys i know. It gives some good battles and lots of ways to attack the flag room

cp_badlands - Still new... but I didn't like the 2nd last control point... seemed for now a little too easy to defend and if lost is easily regained before the other team can attack. Leave it up, see how plans adjust, this could be a really good map
cp_beach_b6 - Not great... fun to play with a few people as snipers... but overall not a great map for a full server... last cp is in a stupid spot
cp_castle - Only played 3
cp_castle2 - Only played 3
cp_castle3 -I liked it, but never played with a server over 10 people... so would like to see how 20 people do on this
cp_dustbowl - Why is it everymap that has dust in it becomes the go to map (like dust or dust2)
cp_granary - I like this map.... lost of points of attack and a good challenge both offensively and defensively
cp_gravelpit - Same as above
cp_science_b3 - Huge map... leads to some lost people, but when you learn it, it can be a lot of fun
cp_science_b5 -same as above
cp_warpath - Huge map that generally only gets played for one round... but it is unbelieveably fun on a full server with the constant back and forth action
cp_well- I like it

Yea, I wasn't really impressed but I think it can be a good map. Folks just need to get used to the map and react to situations faster. If you don't have at least a sentry and one other person in the final point it gets capped fast.

badlands is way too big for tf2, plus with those dumb pyramid things, that map has the potential of stalemate over and over again. What I want to know is who is testing this garbage before valve releases them. First that ctf well mess now this... it's not like it takes long to figure out they suck, after the first 5 minutes of playing its obvious.

is it really... that's brutal... because it takes an uber to get through the defense with the flag and by the time you get the flag and come back... the defence is back again
