Given the name of this website we're sure you already know what our primary gripe was with the original iPhone. Good news for those of you who shared our complaint: Analysts for investment bank USB told their clients today (http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/djf500/200802280607DOWJONESDJONLINE000578_FORTUNE5.htm) in a note that the third-generation iPhone should drop "mid year," and the new incarnation of the popular device should have Infineon innards.
Battery life was a major reason that the last version did not support AT&T HSDPA (600kbps-1.4Mbps) service, instead going with clunkier EDGE (200kbps if lucky) connectivity. The new device should include a new power management unit (PMU), and comes just in time for iPhone users to enjoy AT&T's new HSUPA upstream 3G upgrades (http://www.thegng.org/shownews/91637).
