Well, today I should have a Brand new AMD Athlon XP 3000+ processor sitting at my house when I get home from work. This will definitely be a nice upgrade from my current AMD 2200+ ...so I may be on a little later tonight than the 'usual' but hopefully it will be with some upgraded performance... so BE AFRAID!!!.. be very afraid...

and fear my 100-300 ping too..

well, my luck has struck again...
the processor didnt come in yesterday.

...I'm giving these people until today to send my processor...

I have the worst luck ordering things online... perhaps I should stop paying for next day or 2nd day delivery... because thats never when it actually arives

Yeak I've given up on any type of expedited shipping. Next day will arrive about two weeks late for me. 2 day about a week. Regular shipping...two days.

P.S.
I fear you now...how would a new processor change that? unless you count being more afraid than before, then ok.

Wohoo!

It finally came in and it R0x0rz my B0x0rz. I know its not the best processor out there, but its a few hundred MHz faster than what I was previously running.

Also, out of nowhere... my internet connection was finally acting properly. It was still way high after the processor replacement (so I know its not related to that) I did however change ports on my hub and reset the modem. Although the problem did not relieve itself immediately, it seemed to have an over all good impact on how my latency responded...

Anyhow, just happy/excited. Figured I would share with you all.

D-

I wanted to point out to you the Radeon X800 series of video cards. ( http://www.ati.com/products/radeonx800/index.html ) I understand the 9800 might be pretty cheap now in comparison to when it came out, and it will definitely be an upgrade from the 9600. HOWEVER.. the X800 series has been around for about a year now (maybe a little less) and they are far superior to the 9800 series... I am sure you wont be dissapointed if you throw in a little extra cash (if it is worth it to you).

they even have an X850 series now, but I am sure they will charge you an arm and a leg for it. Its for stupid people like me who will spend $450 on a video card (how much I bought the X800 for)

yeah, but my bud is selling his 9800pro to me for like $80. can't complain with that. i'm well aware of those x800 cards, and i'd love to pick one up in the future...

Oh ok, awesome deal...

I just figured if you were going to pay ~$250 for the 9800.. why not throw an extra $50 in...

but in that case, hell yea... go for it.. thats a great deal!
