Any recommendations? I am not looking for a fancy evening watch. I have a semi nice Fossil and I typically don't wear watches anyway.

However, I'm looking for something rugged and I can take on runs/workouts and possibly wear at work where it WILL get banged around a bit. I know the Casio G-Shocks are highly regarded for this market. Stopwatch and timer functions would be a must.

What do you guys think? What about the watches you sometimes get from the bottom of cereal boxes? HAHA!

finally something worth replying to. i love watches iown probably 12 or so. for work and running i would recommend the g-shock, but if you want something that looks a little nice i`d say look into a citizen (i beleive its the echo drive series that runs off kenetic energy rather than a battery) they have different styles to choose from. man typing with wii is hard lol. i would look for a velcro wrist strap as well (dont you work at fed ex? or might be a diff gng guy)

Yes, it seems like gshock is the way to go. And yes, Santa, I do work for FedEx. And why would you recommend the velcro/nylon wristband over the resin (plastic?) one?

i dont. they start to smell when wet.

i worked at ups in rockford there and when i had a rubber one it began to tear eventually because of the way the packages could grab onto the band, thats why i recommend that. Yes they can become some what smelly though. Also when i worked as a mail clerk for the govt all the fedex/ups/dhl people had those bands as well.

The best remedy to the smelly watch band is

wash it
Wash your hands...wash your watch.
Wear it into the shower.
Wash the dishes, wash your watch.
I can't think of many watches these days that cannot get wet.
g-shocks are great, but since you guys don't wash your watches:tongue:, I'd say go with something that has a metal band. I love fossil watches. I wore the same one for over ten years...through tile jobs, framing, restaurants. I even cracked the crystal in it, had it replaced, and it still never leaked. Plus, the funk that you don't wash off ...comes off easier than a Velcro band.

Fossil is beautiful. Leather versions of their watches work wonders for durability and style. Beyond that I have no comments. Besides stick with a fossil if you can. ;)
