Ok,
Spoke to some of you tonight about my current computer and not being to happy lately with the performance of it.
That has sent me on a journey to get the most out of it that I can safely. I've been running bone stock as it came out of the box (so to speak), so no overclocking. I'll include my build specs at the bottom of the post.
Tonight I started playing with the over clock settings. I found that I can get my CPU to run at 2.7GHz pretty easily, and potentially can go a lot higher with adequate cooling. With a simple CPU stress test it was reaching 55 C. So, I backed it down to 2.6Ghz because there it never got higher than 51 C. It was running at 2.4GHz stock.
Just so happens I read a review on this heat sink fan today, and it looks pretty good for the price.

What do you think? Also, should I stick with not letting the CPU temp get higher than 50 C at 100% usage?
Also, my CPU multiplier is locked, but it appears to be locked at 12x, so I guess that is good. Right now I have the CPU External Frequency set at 220.0 MHz (can go as high as 400) and CPU voltage set at 1.4 (I think my limit on this is 1.5). Memory is set at the default of auto for the moment, so I don't know what is running at. I have read that I should force this to the lowest setting while I up the CPU frequency since it increase by factor as a result.
