I'm looking to buy a new TV, probably $2000 is my limit. Was wondering what you all had or what you would suggest.

Thanks!

I've got a Sony KV-HS510. It's a 36 inch high def unit with a 4:3 aspect ratio. I usually use that TV for watching DVDs and sometimes I wish I would have gone with a widescreen TV instead, but I got a great deal on the TV and it looks just as good except with black bars. When I watch any other kind of TV its usually in the bedroom.

What's this TV going to be used for? Do you plan on connecting it to a stereo system? If not, you might want to consider the quality of the sound output.

Yeah definitely surround sound eventually, I've got some shelf speakers that'll do for now.

It will be the only TV in my apt. I watch a lot of movies and some TV, not much though.

And you didn't bring enough to share with the rest of us?

How Rude!!

That's one of the first rules you learn in pre-school. Never bring goodies unless you have enough to share.

Sheesh!

You know I might have liked a 50 inch TV

:p

hee Congrats LBV

That's what I was looking at originally a 42", but the next day I went back and they had this Samsung open Box 50". The guy that bought it had it for a day, he bought it on the 19th, took it back on the 20th and I bought it the 21st. He said it had a scratch on it, all we could find a a little scuff on the top of the frame (not the screen). And i got it for $700 cheaper, couldn't pass it up.

Circuit City.
I got a Pioneer Receiver 5.1 500 Watts with Infinity speakers. 50" Samsung DLP TV, a nice TV stand, some monster cables and the city service plan for 2 years (which was $300, kind of a lot but meh) for $2800 and some change.

Seemed like a good deal.
