AT&T today announced (http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=4800&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=25726) that the company is almost finished upgrading their existing HSDPA network with HSUPA technology (I'll note that's not to be confused (http://www.networkworld.com/news/2008/052108-att-3g.html?fsrc=netflash-rss) with finishing HSDPA deployments). HSUPA boosts the upstream capability of their 3G wireless network to between 500kbps and 800kbps (it offers up to 1.4Mbps downstream). According to AT&T, their wireless broadband network is now available in 275 markets, a number they claim will reach 350 by the end of the year. HSUPA will be included in all future 3G deployments.
