There have been problems in the past with developing mobile TV because it requires technological advances that aren t yet ready. However, a new report (http://www.analysysmason.com/About-Us/News/Press-releases/Mobile-TV-and-video-services-are-possible-without-3G-and-dedicated-mobile-broadcasting-networks-says-Analysys-Mason/) suggests that we can actually make use of existing and emerging indoor wireless technologies to spread the development of mobile TV. The report looks at femtocells, WLAN and sideloading as methods of launching mobile TV today. Of course, this isn t useful for those people who want to access mobile TV on the go but the report says that the majority of people who use mobile TV are actually doing so from indoors. This doesn t mean that companies such as Qualcomm (http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/94534) should fail to continue making advances in mobile TV technology but just suggests that there may be more than one solution to the problem.
