Users in our Teksavvy forum have posted photos (http://thegng.org/forum/r20546575-) from today's network neutrality protest in Ottawa (see entire discussion thread (http://thegng.org/forum/r20544848-LIVE-from-Ottawa-Net-Neutrality-Rally-on-Parliament-Hill)). According to our users, there were upward of 300 people in attendance -- including a significant media turnout. That's not too bad for a protest involving a technical issue the vast majority of average citizens remain utterly clueless about. Still, anonymous posters from the Bell Canada domain took their shot (http://thegng.org/forum/r20545802-Re-LIVE-from-Ottawa-Net-Neutrality-Rally-on-Parliament-Hill) (classy!) at the turnout. Says a more sympathetic attendee:I just got back. Yeah, with a quick and dirty headcount I came up to a ballpark of just over 300 people. It's a little disappointing, but there was some spirit in the crowd and the host / speakers were very good. . . Perhaps this is really just a step in building awareness. But I felt the signs didn't make it very clear to passersbys what exactly was going on, or what the issues were, hopefully the media can fill that gap; if they bother to cover the story, that is.
Surely this pic (http://thegng.org/r0/download/1311575~3dbec87446f14df296352cd4c1dbd2de/nnp3.jpg) wouldn't confuse your average Canadian passing by, would it?
