Sony has struck an arrangement with the National Cable and Telecommunications Association that will let the electronics giant embed digital cable boxes with two-way capabilities (for VOD) into television sets. According to the Associated Press (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080527/ap_on_hi_te/cable_boxes;_ylt=AuaG9TRrzWeBcAlsmQxqbt2s0NUE), the deal involves a deployment arrangement with Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Charter, Cox, Cablevision and BrightHouse networks -- who collectively serve 82% of all cable customers. It looks like this is the first serious deployment of "Tru2way (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tru2Way)" -- previously known as OCAP.
