Opeth's (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018CWWK0/ref=pe_24500_9411230_fe_img_6/) new album Watershed came out this week. I haven't picked it up yet, but what I have heard from it so far I like.

Yes it is pretty good (compliments of SNK)

I dont know though, something about this album isnt as appealing to me as most of their previous ones. Its still really well made with great instrumentals.. I just feel like its missing something.. I tend to odten skip the middle tracks for some reason.

Either way, definitely a great add to anyones music collection that likes that kind of music

There's 2 new members actually.

They replaced long time drummer Martin Lopez, who'd been with them for almost 10 years I believe, who joined the same time as their bassist. He left for personal reasons I think, like he couldn't do the live performances anymore, anxiety or something, and maybe some health problems.

They also lost guitarist Peter Lindgren, who was with Opeth from the start, so that's kind of a huge change too. The guy replacing him used to be in Arch Enemy.

So just with those 2 new people alone I'd expect a slightly different sound. Plus if you read or watch interviews with the singer who writes most of the material, he's always wanting to go in new directions and is tired of alot of their older work.

I didnt know they replaced the bassist.. i got the album.. but havent listened to it yet.. i hope the drummer keeps up with martin

Oh man I didn't know about that one, I'll have to get that one too.

And I know Mastodon is writing and recording new material for an album that should be out later this year. I know whatever they put out next will be amazing.
