So yesterday a huge storm rolled through the DC area and I happened to be at work in the middle of a funeral. It was terrible everyone else left and we were still standing there ready to fire and we did. We happened to be the last ones out there even through the fucking hurricane winds and rain haha. Well I guess some guy was filming and we had no idea and it ended up on CNN. We found out when one of the guys that was out there (the black guy beside me) mom called him and told him that we were on CNN. I love my job and we werent moving untill we got our shots off. Anyways I wanted to post up the video no for bragging rights I just think it looks awesome. The comments on the video make it hard to hate my job, at least the positive ones. If you scroll through you'll see some funny ones too like "wtf they were just standing in the rain who cares" lol. That got too long sorry!

That is freaking awesome man.

I was never on a very formal guard like your's, but I was part of the burial detail for one of the bases I was stationed at. It was some of the toughest work I ever had to do. It was hard to see the families so sad, and still stand there so proud sometimes. Which, I'm sure you can understand. Some respect, others hate you for it.

Helping make sure the dead Marine had their uniform on correctly was the toughest part because it put a face into your memory.

The drive to the funeral was just like any other day, but the drive home was usually somber and quiet.

as were marching off im the guy right behind the black guy, or if you count im the 4th person back. thanks for your comments guys. fox news came to arlington today and interviewed some of the guys that were out there that day, i wasnt out in arlington today though. but our squadron was getting calls from generals and all sorts of higher ups in the military in general about how it made them proud to serve watching it. i dont know i know its not us in iraq fighting or anything but we all do our part and ours in honoring the dead. anyways thanks again guys..

Take comfort in knowing there are a lot more people out there that support the military than not. I only read the most recent page of comments (out of ten) and I only read one that, didn't have anything to do with the clip, and was derogitory...about housing bonus or something like that...whatever.

Standing there like a stone pilar. That's awesome.
