I'm not sure why you say months away. Did they say the same thing with the Medic and Goldrush update? I'm looking forward to this update since Pyro is my favorite class. The Axestinguisher looks for cool. I'm betting that soldier kills and sentry kills go way up with everyone playing pyro.

From the time they said Medic was almost done... it was like 3 months as they continually delayed it for whatever reason. I'm curious to see what the 36 achievements will be. Sentry kills will go up for sure... and I think this could be worse to play as then during the medic update. It should be interesting as I know I will have NONE of these achievements.... that 7 hours of pyro looks really low compared to everything else.

Valve today announced a set of new releases for Team Fortress 2, the title named Multiplayer Game of the Year by PC Gamer and Gamespy.com.

The main event of the week is the Pyro Update, which will be made available this Thursday and contains three unlockable new weapons for the Pyro plus 35 new achievements. In addition, two user-created maps are included to highlight the great work being done in the community and distribute those works to all TF2 players..

Meanwhile as folks wait for the Pyro Update to be released, the latest in the "Meet the Team" video shorts, "Meet the Sniper," will be made available tomorrow (Tuesday, June 17) at 11 am PDT along with a web site dedicated to the Pyro update.

Finally, to give everyone a chance to try the new weapons and community maps, Valve will hold another Team Fortress 2 Free Weekend via Steam beginning this Friday at 11 am PDT.

Just for those that are interested. At least they are achievable with non-grinding ways for the most part.

Pyro seems EXTREMELY powerful now... it will be interesting to see how this changes the dynamic of how they are played.

Most of these will probably be like the medics where 90% won't be retroactive :(

the cool thing about the pyro achievements is that theres almost 40 yet you only need close to 30 to get the upgrades...

there is a total of 38 (35 with the 3 milestones) and you get all 3 weapons by number 24 or 25 i think (somewhere in there) unfortuneately, none of these are retroactive, so if you have 100 hours of pyro, you have the same starting point as someone who hasn't played.

Doesn't take long, took just over 2 hours to get 35/38

with the 3 remaining being 500 and 1000 kills and 1,000,000 burn points

Almost done with my Pyro achievements. Got 8 left total.

I do hate all the pyros running around though. Shit is Insane crazy!

Heh I actually restarted playing TF2 daily and I've finally unlocked the Milestone 3 for medic (you only need 22 achievements to unlock it now though).

Everyone comes out of the wood work to post but I never see anyone playing. I unlocked milestone 3 fairly quickly and I LOVE the air blast thing. Hilarious to watch heavies get critted by half their own bullets. Every class has gotten easier to take on now, just a quick blast and no one knows what do against it. Only 22 unlocks for tier 3 for the Medic now?!? WTF is that?

You just have to look more often Thunder... Last night myself and all the wannabe presidents (dole, perot, bush, gore, kerry) were all on I know that.

Yea, sorry I missed you all. Are we/should we frequented a specific server? If I see someone in a server I usually join and then favorite it if they say they play there alot. There's always our server...

Also, for the presidents can you change your names back or at least post up in the private forums what you are changing your names too? I have a hell of a time remembering my own tag without people changing theirs all the time.

I havent really found a home server. I bounce all over the place unless I get into Vent and Billy yells at me to get into his server.

That was/is the biggest problem with the server... whenever an update happens it takes time for someone who has the power to reset the server and stuff, so it gets a little annoying when they are frequent like they have been.

We are generally in their vent as most of the time when I get on no one is in ours. Chick tends to come on near the tail end of my night and there is generally a few in their vent.

Yeah... At least the normal few guys or the ones that are around most often (Tuck, Thunder, Chick) should get the info. Doesn't Animal have it as well?
