Making CSS Maps

I once, with much help, made a quake based map. It was a total pain in the ass but quite fun too. I have a good, if macabre, idea for a CSS map.

Any map makers out there? I know Live was mentioning a Star Wars map tonight. That would be cool. There have been some really good SW maps made for a coupla different games.

I really enjoy (on occassion) that airdrop knife level we have... its a great way to break away from the normal fuss of the game, and suprizingly, most people will stay and play it, rather than leave because of how odd it is....

its too much fun to resist, I feel like I am a para-trooper when you fall the 100 stories into the water! w00t!

Get your hands on the latest version of WorldCraft and then we can talk. I know it's a pain in the ass to make a map. I use to create Quake maps WAY back in the day. Just to mess around with. In Duke Nukem 3D I was making my high school but I got a quarter the way done and the file went corrupt. Just find/buy WorldCraft and perhaps we could make custom maps to fuck around with late at night. Anyone know how much WorldCraft runs these days?

Ever since I watched Episode III last Thursday Star Wars has been real heavy in my brain. I was making a joke about creating a map based around the planet that Obi Wan and Anakin fought on. The lava planet, Mustafar.

Thats where the idea of de_mustafar came from. I think it would be tight as shit. Just you would have to download the custom knife skin that makes your knife a lightsaber...lol

It's possible. If everyone chips in and does a small portion of the work, we can put it all together have a cool map out of it.. I would have to relearn WorldCraft again... hrmm :frown:

oooooo map making, I remember how fun that used to be, I'll help if you need an extra hand. I've had some pretty wild ideas myself, but never got far enough to see them in action.

Remember the church from Face off where they had the bomb in the beginning? that would be cool, and a pain in the ass because of the architecture but it would look awesome.

Or perhaps a 2 floor mall, with a hostage rescue situation.... just some thoughts.

we have something SIMILAR to that... but I think it could be refined......

my friend kapala makes maps.
he's in the server a good bit but lately he and mark have been cracked out on Guild Wars.
I'll ask him about his thoughts on it
