Verizon just finally extended their 50Mbps FiOS service to all FiOS customers (http://www.thegng.org/shownews/95375), and is conducting tests among Verizon employees for 100Mbps service. Verizon CTO Mark Wegleitner talks to CNET (http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9977515-7.html) about maxing out the current technology at 100Mbps, and taking things closer to 200Mbps once they get GPON installed. Wegleitner also hints at using LTE wireless broadband technology in more rural markets where they're not willing to spend the money to deploy additional fiber infrastructure.
