Dragon Age: Origins

I'm deciding to make an official thread regarding this game. It seems there is a decent amount of stuff people want to discuss and its leaking in to other somewhat related forums.

So yes, this game is awesome. If you're in to RPGs you should definitely pick this game up. Available for PC, PS3, and XBOX.

We should set up a rule for anyone who is going to talk about specifics in the game to mention "spoiler alert" for people who havent gotten to that part yet.

On a bit of a side note... I've found two websites that are useful if you care to do a bit of research. One site in particular everyone should at least look at is this spells combo page:

It really helps figuring out some very powerful spell sequences.


The second page is kind of a walk-through guide. You may not want to use this for your first time around for it may kind of ruin the game. However I've found it useful when I come to a point in the game where I am a bit confused on what to do:

I got it for PS3 and made a Noble Dwarf Warrior, fun so far. Only problem is that the game chugs through some cut scenes and camera rotation... apparently this is something that is only in the PS3 version because the fuck faces tried to up the graphics since the PS3 can handle it but apparently it wasn't fine tuned and optimized enough. It's still fun, but it almost makes me want to return it for the sake of a $50 game having visual errors.

Go PC or 360 on this unless you don't mind the minor visual slowness.

Oh no, that sucks Walker. I did notice that when watching SNK and Sylver play.. but it didnt seem toooo bad. It happens a little bit on the PC too.. it hesitates, then carries on

I hear ya JW, but I must be "use-to" it because I dont even realize it anymore. I'm trying to think when mine has done that since. I dont even pay attention.

I only paid $40 and came with the $15 addon so thats nice. Plus Shale is a beast ass tank! He tanked a High Dragon for the longest time and barely took damage. my mage (my toon) was dead, warrior was dead, healer was up which didnt even have to heal that much and Shale. He slowly beat the dragon down to nothing.. LOL Of course I have my healer cast, is it "Heroic Defense"? on him when I fight bosses. Once he grabbed aggro, that dragon couldnt break it. It took a lil while for him to grab aggro but once he did that dragon had nothing.. heheh

Ahh is Shale the Downloadable character? The codes came with mine too, just haven't used them yet.

I'm in the very beginning really, made a dwarf warrior and am still a nub running around lortheren or whatever the first town is. I got my dog though... his name is Cesar.

Yeah man, I got used to it after an hour or so of playing last night. The load timing fucking suck though. Almost makes me want to return the game at times. It already froze on me once also, second day I had it.

Well, that is one thing I can say for sure is the loads & saves seem to happen a lot quicker on the PC version. Of course I recently bought a video card that cost nearly the price of a PS3 .. so perhaps that is why.
